We do not use cookies

Clause sets no cookies at all. Not strictly necessary ones, not functional ones, not analytics, not advertising. There is one narrow use of browser storage, described below, and it exists only while an assessment is open.

That is why you have not been asked to accept anything. A consent banner exists to obtain permission for storage on your device, and there is nothing here to permit. Being shown a banner by a site that then sets nothing is theatre, so we have not built one.

One exception, and only while you are taking an assessment

If you start an assessment, we keep your answers in your browser's session storage so that a refresh does not lose your place. It is not a cookie, and it is deleted by your browser when you close the tab.

Nothing is sent to us.

That is still storage on your device, so it is disclosed here rather than buried. It is used for nothing else — not to count what you have read, not to recognise you on a later visit.

How to check

Do not take our word for it. Open your browser's developer tools, look at the Application or Storage tab, and load any page on this site. Outside an assessment in progress you will find no cookies, no local storage and no session storage set by us.

If that changes

Two things would plausibly change it: measuring how the site is used, or limiting how much you can read before signing in. Neither exists today.

If either is added, this page is updated in the same change that adds it, and anything that is not strictly necessary to deliver a page you asked for will ask your permission first and work without it if you decline.
